OR Registered Nurse Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. In this critical role, you will provide high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the process. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
OR Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the operating room before, during, and after surgery.
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for use.
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams with procedures, anticipating needs and providing support throughout.
- Monitor patient’s vital signs and condition during surgery, intervening as necessary to ensure patient safety.
- Administer medications, fluids, and other treatments as prescribed during surgery.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families to provide updates and emotional support.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient care, including preoperative and postoperative assessments.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to provide a seamless, safe, and efficient surgical experience for the patient.
OR Registered Nurse Qualifications:
- Active RN license.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Experience in the operating room or perioperative nursing preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and operating room protocols.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
