Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist - First Assistant to join our team. In this crucial role, you will support surgeons during operations by maintaining a sterile environment and providing essential assistance throughout surgical procedures. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring smooth surgeries and positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons with tissue handling, suctioning, and hemostasis during procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field and prepare surgical instruments with precision.
- Work closely with the surgical team to monitor patient conditions throughout the operation.
- Accurately document surgical procedures and ensure proper sterilization of instruments.
- Operate under the supervision and authority of the surgeon to ensure the safe and effective conduct of both invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures.
- Ensure the operating room environment is safe, equipment is functioning properly, and all procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology Program.
- Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Surgical Assistant Association.
- Advanced First Assistant certification preferred.
- Proven experience in a surgical setting.
- Completes 20 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) / year of advance training.
