Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments for varied age groups including pediatrics, adults, and seniors, employing standardized evaluation tools alongside observational methods.
• Create tailored therapy plans addressing immediate goals as well as longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that encompass key areas: communication, language use, fluency, and swallowing difficulties.
• Work intimately with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and medical doctors, to construct well-rounded care strategies.
• Provide educational resources for patients and their families to bolster progress beyond treatment hours.
• Participate in occasional inpatient therapies, ensuring seamless care transitions throughout the therapy journey.
• Maintain precise and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities and collaborate with peers to stay abreast of advancements in the discipline.

Education Requirements

• Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications Required

• Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting the role.
