Support Life-Changing Surgery in a Place That Balances Legacy and Progress
If you’re a Certified Surgical Technologist with steady hands, sharp focus, and a passion for precision, this could be your opportunity to step into a role where your presence in the operating room makes all the difference. Whether you’re an experienced CST or a recent graduate ready to put your training into action, you’ll be welcomed into a surgical team that values collaboration, professionalism, and the quiet intensity of great work done well.
You’ll be part of a team that moves with purpose — preparing the room, maintaining sterile conditions, and anticipating the needs of each procedure down to the moment. In this environment, your skills will be trusted, your instincts respected, and your role essential from the first prep to the final closure. And with leadership that supports continuing education and encourages hands-on growth, you won’t just show up for the shift — you’ll show up for your future.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this full-time role, you’ll support surgical procedures across multiple specialties, ensuring every instrument is in place and every sterile field remains uncompromised. You’ll be responsible for prepping the operating room, managing tools and equipment during surgery, and assisting with post-operative cleanup and sterilization protocols. Your attention to detail and ability to anticipate the surgical team’s needs will help ensure smooth, efficient procedures and the best possible outcomes for patients. This is a role where grace under pressure, teamwork, and technical know-how come together in real time, every time.
Why You’ll Love the Team — and the World Just Outside the OR
You’ll join a group of professionals who take pride in their work and support each other with real trust. Surgeons, nurses, and fellow techs recognize that great outcomes come from great teamwork — and that everyone in the room matters. Whether you’re interested in deepening your surgical specialty knowledge, mentoring new techs, or pursuing leadership opportunities, you’ll find a team that celebrates growth.
And once the shift is over, you’ll step into a region rich with character. Set among tree-covered hills in southern Virginia, this town blends academic energy, historic beauty, and riverside relaxation. You might spend your weekends hiking shaded trails, exploring a downtown dotted with preserved architecture and indie coffee shops, or simply enjoying the kind of stillness that’s hard to come by in larger metro areas. With four distinct seasons, a thriving arts and university presence, and a strong sense of community, this is a place where your life outside the OR feels just as fulfilling as the work you do inside it.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program with a valid CST certification through NBSTSA or an equivalent credential. Prior OR experience is appreciated but not required — we welcome those who bring focus, teamwork, and a readiness to learn. You’ll need familiarity with surgical instrumentation, an understanding of aseptic technique, and the communication skills to work in tight coordination with surgeons and staff.
Let’s Build Something That Saves Lives — Together
If you’re ready to be part of a surgical team where your skills are respected, your role is valued, and your career can truly thrive, we’d love to connect. Apply today and step into a future that’s as rewarding as it is essential.
